5 Makeup NO NO's
Everyone was not born with the gift to apply makeup. However hopefully these pictures and tips will help you figure out what not to do when it comes to makeup!
1. Under-eye Concealer: Be sure to find a concealer thats 1-2 shades lighter then your shade foundation but has the same undertone as your skin. Be sure to blend in concealer throughly to risk looking like this! Especially if your photo is being taken professionally. Natural light shows all your flaws so you want to make sure you are FLAWLESS!
2. Blush Overload: There are so many things I can list wrong in this photo but we going to discuss blush! Lord knows I love me some blush and it wonderful to see BW embracing blush but I shiver in a bad way when there is an overload of blush! Why so much? Blush was created to bring the enhance the cheekbones and also add warmth to the skintone but when overdone you will tend to look a little clownish. Sometimes we can overdose on blush and not know it. I've done it but if you know you have OD'ed on blush please do yourself a favor and take your powder brush and dip it in your face powder or liquid foundation and subtract some of that blush out. This will help tone down the blush and give you more of a “glow from within” look.
3. Cakey Foundation: Oh nooooo NOT THE MASK!!! Why so much foundation? A little definitely goes a long way. I would suggest starting with a concealer to cover blemishes or problem area and from there you can decide on how much more coverage YOU NEED! That will prevent you from Cakey Foundation Start with a sheer application and build it up if needed. Set with powder and for added protection against cakey face, spritz on a makeup spray like MAC Fix+.
4. Clumpy Mascara: Clumpy mascara is slowly becoming a thing of the past thanks to innovations in how mascaras are made. But to safeguard yourself from it, wipe off any excess mascara from the wand before applying it to your lashes. Work the wand from lash root to tip in a quick zig-zag motion. If you wish to add a second coat, do so before the first coat dries. You can also use a clean mascara wand to comb through the lashes and remove any excess.
Not The Lashes: Bad false lashes. While fake lashes can add to a makeup look, some of the super obvious ones just look like broom bristles. You can wear dramatic lashes, just make sure they’re in scale with your eyes (i.e. the smaller your eyes, the smaller the lash) and cut them to fit your eyes properly. Makeup is necessary when wearing lashes as well.
Overdrawn Eyebrows: Your brows are probably the most important part of your look. They frame your face and can make or break any eye makeup look. Try and have them groomed by a professional at least once a month while keeping them trim with a pair of tweezers. If you must fill them in, do so with a brow pencil that’s slightly lighter than your hair color. Fill them in using light, dainty feathery strokes. Set with brow powder or gel.
Though only 5 were mentioned there are many more tips that I could give to you all but these will take you through life fine. If you follow these tips you will be set!
