Freelance Advantage: Don't Get Stuck

Freelance Advantage: Don't Get Stuck

I thought this was a great blog to share by THE Crystal Wright and I totally agree!!!

Don't Get Stuck

StuckDon't get stuck. Days off are often a time of introspection. Just when you seem to be basking in the sun or letting out a sigh over that last piece of sweet potato pie, your mind drifts off to, "and what am I going to do next with my ......career?

Don't get stuck. This is especially important for those of you who work in retail, be it at a cosmetic counter, beauty salon, or department store.

At one point you had or still have the intention of launching a successful career, freelancing behind-the-scenes as a makeup artist, hair stylist, fashion stylist or manicurist.

Don't get stuck. You need an exit strategy––the last day you are going to work there. Give yourself 6 months to a year to make your move and take your power back. Don't use your credit card debt as an excuse for why you don't leave a job that you're not happy with for a career that could make you giddy from the time you wake up in the morning. Stop overspending, and spend instead right into your savings account.

Don't get stuck. Stop telling potential clients that, "my website is under construction," "I'm waiting for my new business cards," or "My comp card should be here tomorrow," if you haven't taken step one to toward making contact with the people or companies who can facilitate the production of your marketing materials.

Take your power back by getting it done. Plan to Work and Work the Plan.

I'm Crystal Wright and I approve this message.

I welcome your thoughts.
