REVIEW: THE BATTLE OF THE SPONGES!

+Beauty Blenders  are a staple in many artist kits and I think every makeup artist and makeup hobbyist should have at least ONE of these sponges. It's the greatest way to blend out your foundation and get that airbrush look. I have many artists in this industry that follow my blog but I also have everyday women, moms, corporate industry workers. So I'm going to introduce the first sponge.

What is a beauty blender?

A beauty blender is a egg shape sponge applicator invented by top Hollywood make up artist +Rea Ann Silva . The key to a perfect face is a perfect blend. This sponge allows you to blend effortlessly with it's innovative shape. By wetting the sponge The beauty blender reduces streaks and gives you that flawless airbrush finish. You can get into the smallest crevices of the face with the corner of the beauty blender and tackle the largest area with the butt of the blender. With a little bounce and roll you will get the look you desire. This sponge retails at about $19.99 or more depending on where you are purchasing it from

What is the +realtechniques Miracle Complexion Sponge?
miracle complexion sponge

Similar to the Beauty Blender The Miracle Complexion Sponge is a 3 in 1 sponge that was created by the Youtube sensation sisters from London Samantha & Nicola Chapan. Like the beauty blender it is suppose to give you that flawless airbrush effect. The rounded areas of the sponge is for the larger surface of your face and just like the beauty blender you should stipple and do dabbing motions. I personally like  like to press dab and roll. I believe that the roll motion is what blend the makeup better. Also with the Miracle Complexion Sponge you must wet it just like the beauty blender for you to get the right results like any sponge. The tip of the Miracle Complexion Sponge is to help conceal, cover imperfections and get into the larger areas of the face. The flat edge is for the contours of the face, eyes, nose. So this sponge is a bit more versatile than the beauty blender which is why it's a 3-in one sponge. This sponge retails at $5.99. That is PRETTY AWESOME!

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE???
There are minor differences but not MAJOR! I must say I've seen a lot of dupes for the Beauty Blender and none could match up but this dupe is something I feel is worth purchasing and can sort of match up to the beauty blender. Do I love it? I think the beauty blender will always be the best and there is nothing out there like it that can top it as of yet however this is a great alternative sponge IF the Beauty Blender is not in your budget. So let's talk about the RT sponge:

**Note: I will start abbreviating the sponge name Example:
Real Technique Miracle Complexion Sponge = RTMC
Beauty Blender = BB

1. I can achieve a comparable look with the RTMC Yes when I wet the sponge the RTMC sponge is about the same size as the BB.
2. It's shape is a bit different from the original BB. It has a flat surface which is suppose to be used to contour. I haven't used that part of the sponge yet but it doesn't diminish the quality of the sponge.

3. The RTMC sponge is a bit denser than the BB. When wet it does soften but it doesn't blend out the makeup like the BB does because of the density. It tends to trap more moisture in than the BB because of the density of the sponge.
4. The color of the sponge is obviously different.
5. The RTMC sponge is a bit harder to clean. I do get my sponge looking brand new again but have to work harder cleaning it than I do with the BB and that has a lot to do with the sponge itself.

Overall how do I rate the RTMC sponge??? I give it a 7.5. It will never match up to a BB but it's worth the investment. It's a great alternative if you are on a budget for the moms or for the artists. We all have to start from somewhere. This is the best option

Can you tell which side is the RTMC Sponge and which side is the BB???
