BLOGGER RECAP: The Makeup Show Dallas VIP Party

The Makeup Show, the largest beauty trade show geared for PRO Artists around the globe made it's way into Dallas, Texas bringing us education & much much inspiration!

The Makeup Show took place on September 27 and 28 at the Hyatt Regency Dallas. Nearly 4,000 pro artists, buyers, industry educators, press and retailers packed the house with some of the most iconic makeup artists who came together at what was said to be the LARGEST pro-driven beauty event in the South!

For years I along with many other artists have BEGGED owner of The Makeup Show Shelly Taggar and "Director of Education & Artists Relationship" James Vincent to bring The Makeup Show to the South. I felt I like that we had the potential but the question was at the time were we ready to receive them. Honestly to keep it real NO Texas wasn't ready. We're now getting to the point of HOPE *lol*. We have a long way to go but I think this was the best time for The Makeup Show to embark on this journey to the south. And we definitely didn't disappoint them! We PACKED house and showed them some HUGE love. You know everything is big in Texas even our love.

I had the opportunity to help get the word out as a Brand Ambassador for The Makeup Show and what a privilege it was and it was an awesome experience for me because for years I've dreamed of this moment. I decided instead of going place to place I would host a social mixer to draw the people in and just network. First off I would like to thank +The Make-Up Artist Project / The MUA Project / Make Up Supply Store  for allowing me to host these events at their location. I am so appreciative of their kindness. And I would like to thank Marc HarveyJames Vincent & +Crystal Wright  for being special guest and devoting their time to bring awareness towards education, inspiration, & community. I believe that Knowledge Is Power I also would like to thank all of the previous sponsors, +Lamik Beauty +Houston Fashion Bloggers+TheMakeupShow +Forever Memories Fotography +IDG Print Lab  Special thanks to Judy Williams . and everyone that participated!

The Makeup Show Dallas Bloggers Preview

Not only was I given the opportunity as a Brand Ambassador for The Makeup Show Dallas but I also had a chance to be a part of the Bloggers Preview which was an exclusive event for The Beauty Bloggers to get a sneak peak of what we will see at the show and get a inside look at some of James Vincent top fav products from some of the featured brands at the show. James kicked off the Bloggers Preview event, by telling us a little about himself and the role he play in the production of The Makeup Show, he talked about the education and some of the iconic makeup artists  that would be featured at the show, he talked about the brands that will be at the show and he discussed about the top beauty brands that would be launching new products at the show. Then he pulled out the goody bags which we all received as a gift of his top fav products which were sponsored by brands at the show. It was a bunch of ooooing and ahhhhhhwing in the room probably from just me. I felt like I was in a candy store!

We received a pretty nice goody bag! We had a mix crowd of Beauty Bloggers, Brand Ambassadors and a few artist that rode in with me.

What makes The Makeup Show different from any other show is the fact it's a two day event geared for the PRO artists only dedicated to artistry, networking, community, inspiration and education.

There were drinks at the bar... I think he was ready for his close up don't you?

Markesha and James

I met some other bloggers in Texas. I love networking and meeting fellow artists and beauty bloggers.

And to close out the night I got a picture with the charming Director of Education & Artists Relationship James Vincent.

I seen so many famous and well respected artists at the VIP Party I was literally star stuck. I tried to be cool but couldn't help it and forgot to get pictures of everyone because I was too busy talking and gawking at them but I will do better next time guys I promise!

This is only the pre-events. If only you could see the inside of my brain for the 2 day show. A MESS I TELL YOU! Just all over the place like a kid in a candy/toy store. My heart was racing at a speed that is not healthy lol but I tell you it was all worth it. I will be sharing my experience behind the scenes captures and more.

Be sure to check out my next post and check out the Press Release for The Makeup Show 2015.

  1. The bar staff at this place was professional and their drinks ensured us a fun night in the city. I can't wait to go back. Most of the negative elements of going to a more popular place are avoided at SF event venues; the staff was really mature and respectful.
