What's New In Beauty At Target

“The beauty of the world lies in the diversity of its people.”

Hey Friends!

How many of you all are fans of Target? *Raising Hands* I AM!! Of course, I am or I wouldn't be creating a post about the new beauty items that hit Target. Diversity is very important to me and I think every shade should be celebrated. And Target is doing just that by not only celebrating diversity but celebrating women-owned companies! WOMEN STAND UP & TAKE YOUR CURTSY! I've been in Target and I've never seen these items yet in stores but they are online at this moment. I know that can suck for those that like to go shop in-store. But sometimes shopping online is far better because you have a bit more control and you save yourself time & gas. So I'm going to be sharing the beauty items that I'm looking forward to trying out this summer that also have some great reviews online.

Violet Voss Sexy and Eye Know It Lashes

One thing that I love the most about summer is lashes. FLIRTY LASHES to be exact. Violet Voss is introducing three of their most popular lash styles to Target. These lashes provide extreme volume, brightens up the eyes, and enhances your eye makeup for both day and night all while complimenting your natural features. My favorite lashes from the three most popular are the "Violet Voss Sexy and Eye Know It Lashes. I love lashes that extend the eye and make it look sexy. I know it tabu for someone that has small eyes like myself but personally, I love that effect for myself. These lashes retail for $9.99. Violet Voss was created by a team of female makeup artists and their mission was to make long-lasting lip products, cruelty-free lashes, and other highly pigmented makeup products.

Marlena founder of Makeup Geek
Makeup Geek Bronze Luster Compact

Summer is not Summer without a healthy sunkissed glow. I'm currently eyeing this bronzer that gives your skin a soft beachy glow and it's the Makeup Geek Bronze Luster Compact. This product comes in three shades and the one that I'm interested in is Burnished. This bronzer is said you have a silky finish with a delicate kiss of pearl powder to add radiance and a healthy luster to the skin. Burnished has a warm tone for deep skin-tones. This product retails for $21.99

Melissa Butler, founder of The Lip Bar

I've heard much about The Lip Bar and to know that it's on Target Online & that it's a Black- Owned Brand owned by Melissa Butler gives me even the more reason to try it out. The Lip Bar Matte Liquid Lipstick has 12 shades. Now, normally I don't get too excited about bold shades like Boy Trouble on myself because I've never been into these types of shades on myself but I believe if I wear a lipliner I could make it more wearable on myself. The good thing about this liquid lipstick is that it is vegan & cruelty-free. And their claim of it being a Non-Drying formula which I think I will like because one thing I try to avoid is matte liquid lipsticks that suck the lips dry. This lippie retails for $13.00. Now I've heard mix reviews on this product. But being a blogger it's important for me to try it for myself. Just because something didn't work out for someone else doesn't mean it won't work out for me.

Hue Noir True Hues Flawless Matte Foundation

WOMEN OF COLOR COME THROUGH!!!!

Owned by Paula Hayes,  a product chemist who is also a woman of color who developed an innovative brand that blends both SCIENCE + TECHNOLOGY. Hue Noir's mission is to change the face of beauty by putting multicultural women at the center of the modern beauty movement and by doing that they developed a luxurious makeup solution that's ideal for customers with nuanced skin tones ranging from fair to deep. This foundation claims to be a long-wearing, powder-matte finish foundation that's formulated in true skin-tone hues, providing coverage that is versatile and buildable. According to Target Online, the skin-friendly formula is weightless, comfortable, crease-resistand, hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic. It's claims of lasting all day have me intrigued. This foundation retails for $19.99 and can be found on Target.com and soon inside Target.

I love the story behind Reina Rebelde which is the name of the brand, owned by Regina Merson who is a Latina that grew up in Mexico. This brand is for...

"the exquisite and ambitious woman who embodies her powerful cultural duality by showing her gran Belleza to the world. She is blessed with many choices: she speaks English y algunas veces espaƱol. She loves being Latina and Americana. She equally celebrates the beauty of her Reina and fierceness and grit of her Rebelde. She embraces her duality and has always understood the Fuerza that the perfect shade of lipstick provides to her already-dynamic life and how it powerfully transforms her mysterious beauty.
Reina Rebelde was born out of something I share with you — a passion for makeup and extreme pride for my cultural identity as a Latina. Growing up in Mexico, my makeup obsession started with the telenovela “Rosa Salvaje” and sitting at my mother’s feet watching her beauty rituals as she would get ready to go out for the night with her girlfriends. I’ve been addicted to makeup ever since. Years of makeup hoarding later, my collection is equal parts wild and unpredictable, bold and impractical, feminine and luxurious, sexy and severe — in many ways perfectly reflective of my complicated identity as a Mexican woman embracing an amazing American existence.
Inspired by our collective experience as Reinas Rebeldes, I created this collection of products with built-in versatility to give life to our many dualities, full of provocative shades that deliver the boldness and passion that we bring to the rituals of applying them, and that will take us from glamorous to fierce, aspirational to trailblazing, messy to polished, and allow us to unapologetically and authentically share our Reina Rebelde essence with the world.
Con Besos, "

Reina Rebelde 4 Play Wet Dry Eye Color (Oaxaca)

Summer is a great time to bring out the bolds. And when I saw this palette I automatically thought of the Nautical Style Color Palette which to me is perfect for summer. I think this palette is very versatile because it can be worn day and night depending on how it's being applied. It can be applied dry or wet. And check this! This collection was created by a Latina Women so its good to see some diversity and culture at Target. There are 4 palettes and each one tells a story. 4 Play Wet Dry Eye Color in Oaxaca gives life to the enchanted land and vibrant color of Oaxaca, Mexico. The quad includes four stunning shades: gold, periwinkle lavender shimmer, and matte indigo and retails for $18.00 and based on the reviews this palette is pretty amazing! I'm so ready to glow up this summer with a punch of color! And I feel this Glowlighter is the perfect one for me. I've always been a fan of orange blushes and felt it compliments women of color skin tone. This one is called "Just Peachy". What I love the most about this brand is that it is Black Owned and operated by its founder, Lorraine R. Dowdy. who is also a WOMAN!! YAAASSS!
"Our Focal Point GlowLighters are butter soft highlighters that melt into your skin and blend like a dream. These highlighters apply weightlessly for maximum illumination."
This Glowlighter retails for $19.99 and comes in 4 shades and can be found on Target.com and soon inside Target on the shelves.

HALEYS RE: SET Liquid Matte Foundation Deep

HALEYS Beauty was founded in 2016 by Ashley Ocampo and was created with the mission to create a makeup line that also helps treat common skincare concerns, HALEYS Beauty products are vegan and made without sulfates, phthalates, parabens and fragrance. HALEYS Beauty is also cruelty free & vegan free.

So what I'm really excited about is HALEYS RE: SET Liquid Matte Foundation. This collection has a wide range of complexion shades and because it's summer I'm definitely going to be switching up my routine a bit for a mattifying finish. This liquid foundation is said to offer a smudge-proof coverage, comfortable long wear and a striking matte finish. They also mentioned that it camouflages skin imperfections so if you have enlarged pores or texture. It may just blur that out. This foundation retails for $19.99 and looks to be brown girl friendly. You can find this product on Target.com and it will soon be on the shelves inside Target! I can not wait!

The eight brands will bring more than 150 products to Target, ranging in price from $9.99 to $24.99, and are now available on Target.com and in hundreds of Target stores on May 20. So be on the look out!

Also this past weekend I was inside Target with my clients. It was a new Target that just opened in Richmond, TX. In the beauty section, they are going more with an open concept with a beauty counter. So you have beauty specialist that offer makeovers and you can test products there. I'm hoping that their bringing this concept to each location because it's definitely needed more than ever with these new brands that coming in-store.
